SCIENCE AND RELIGION

There are many people that feel that science and religion hold opposing views. The following links are to help and guide you to the answers.

This is relatively new web site created by Bishop Robert Barron, who helps us with the question: Is Religion Opposed to Science?

In many areas of life, it is important that citizens do their due diligence and research or investigate the facts presented to them. There have been reports of extreme bias in main stream media reporting, fake news on social media sites, and large organizations creating fake data. Science does not hold all the answers, and what it produces in scientific literature, does not automatically mean that this is a solid truth. Science is never settled and there is no such thing as a consensus among scientists. A study today may claim data supports a spcific conclusion then another study tomorrow may claim the exact opposite using the same or different data. Scientitifc studies are often funded by specific interest groups, making the results seem biased. As an example: when a large tobacco company pays for a study that results in a scientific paper claiming that smoking may be good for you. This does not automatically mean that the study is flawed, but a logical conclusion has to be whether or not the study has been influenced by the group paying for it and hence the results may be reflecting a more positive outcome to what the paying group wanted. For governments this works exactly the same. If scientific literature can be used to steer policies in a particular direction, then the outcome could be that we end up paying for this with our taxes. So please take a moment and use your education to learn more about the topics being discussed each and every day.
